Coastal Medix is proud to be able to offer local teamwork between first responder companies and your events to help ensure proper staffing and the reliability of necessary resources.

Our Event Medical Services Explained

Detailed Descriptions of the Essential Services We Offer for Your Event's Safety and Care.

Our First Aiders are American Heart Association (AHA) certified CPR and First Aid providers. Why choose a First Aider? They are ideal for small events with fewer than 2,500 attendees, often chosen as a standby for basic first aid services, and are budget-friendly, providing the minimum required medical coverage. What is provided? A basic medical backpack containing essential first aid supplies such as band-aids, gauze, and bandages (a full list is available with the proposal). AEDs are available depending on the venue. Please note, First Aiders are not licensed medical professionals.
Our standard setup includes, but is not limited to, a pop-up tent, table and chairs, signage, and essential medical supplies. For events with fewer than 2,500 attendees, one EMT is suggested (see event guidelines for staffing requirements), while one EMT is required for events above 2,500 attendees (staffing requirements may vary). Supplies provided include an AED, BLS airway management bag, over-the-counter medications bag, and a variety of first aid supplies (a full list of supplies is available with the proposal). We also provide an ice cooler and wheelchair. Additionally, we offer the option to include cots or medical beds, a gurney, extra wheelchairs, backboards/stretchers, and medical carts for your event’s specific needs.
Bike Medics are EMTs or Paramedics equipped with outfitted EMS bikes, providing a mobile medical solution. Each bike is equipped with panniers containing standard BLS care supplies, including an AED and airway management bag. Why choose a Bike Medic? They are ideal for mobile events and are often selected as sweepers for races and sporting events, ensuring quick access to care across large areas. You can also choose to add Bike Medics to your First Aid Station setup alongside an EMT or RN for enhanced coverage and response.
Medical plans often require a First Aid Station staffed with a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide a higher level of care, particularly for events with over 2,500 patrons in attendance daily. RNs have a broader scope of practice, allowing them to treat and release more patients than an EMT. FAS RNs are trained in Event Medical care and have specialized skills in emergency and acute care assessments. Each RN station is equipped with all the essentials of a basic first aid station, with the added expertise of an RN. We always pair our RNs with a partner, such as an EMT or Paramedic, to ensure the safety of both your attendees and our staff. Our goal is to provide exceptional care and peace of mind throughout your event.
In the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) field, BLS refers to providing essential life-saving assessments and skills. Our team is AED and CPR certified, enabling them to promptly recognize life-threatening emergencies, deliver high-quality chest compressions, administer appropriate ventilations, and use an AED when necessary. Our staff is trained to perform basic life-saving assessments and care for the sick and injured, provide first aid support and treatment, and activate the 911 system when required. Additionally, they are skilled in coordinating further resources as needed. At Coastal Medix, all staff are certified in at least BLS skills, ensuring your event is always supported by trained professionals ready to respond.
ALS in the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) field involves providing advanced skills for out-of-hospital emergency care. It begins at the Paramedic level, where higher-level care protocols and procedures are applied. Some examples of ALS skills include cardiac monitoring, controlled medication administration, endotracheal intubation, and advanced patient assessment techniques. ALS-trained professionals are equipped to handle more complex medical situations, ensuring that your event has access to the highest level of care when needed.
Rover Teams are made up of two Coastal Medix providers, ensuring that your first aid station is always manned. These mobile teams walk designated areas of your event or venue, providing an additional layer of medical coverage beyond the First Aid Station setup. Rover Teams are ideal for large venues and congested crowds where quick access to patients may be difficult. Their goal is to provide prompt and effective treatment, improving medical aid access throughout your venue. Each team is equipped with a BLS "jump bag," allowing for rapid treatment and transport to ensure the best possible care for the sick and injured. WHEN ARE ROVER TEAMS APPROPRIATE? Instead of allocating one of your team members to bring a patron to the first aid station for help, we provide the services of going to them. Our team is at your event to handle all things medical related from helping check medications at the gate to administering life saving skills in the middle of your event crowd. Use a rover team when you have an attendance and venue location large enough to provide extra care.
